You opinion is bad it wasn't a bad game it's quite fun.
The AI of the enemies in HL 1 is better than the ones in any COD game.

He gave more of an explanation, so technically his statement is more credible than yours.
No he really didn't he just said the Graphics are bad and the game is stuff.

Edit: With more text that is.

Cod a1 is dumbed down to match its core audience. Children don't get 'flanking.'

When Valve announced Half-Life: Source, many fans were excited for a total overhaul of their beloved game on that new-fangled Source engine launched with the game's sequel.

Those fans were also very disappointed to see the game merely ported onto the engine and given physics and the like. This mod is for those fans.

they paid 100 dollars to upload a free game
the least you can do is get the loving thing released

nope, read more carefully

I never said it wasn't fun. I said it was a bad game, and it is. For you to imply that graphics mean little makes me laugh - in a story driven game like Half-Life, they matter all the more than they would in some generic shoot-'em-up title. Graphics are not only the quality of textures and models but are also stuff like sound, voice acting, animation quality, things like that. Graphics are as important to a game as the rest of it's components (controls, gameplay, level design) and while some games age well in that regard (see: Paper Mario), others don't, and as a result the impact of the story lessens.

Half-Life 1 was built during the early era of video games and because of that it has a lot of issues that, through trial and error, have been effectively worked out of game development during our current time. Aside from the distinct lack of life in the boxy areas, there are also the jerky, unbelievable animations coupled with poor sound quality. Even still, there are actual gameplay mechanics that are obsolete, along with level design that, compared to current games, is atrocious. (See: Xen. See: On A Rail). I personally like Half-Life 1 but I don't let that get in the way of consciously recognizing it is factually a bad game. Yes, it's fun, but it has issues that are glaring and can't be ignored. Black Mesa will resolve most if not all of them.

coupled with poor sound quality.
It was made in 1998.
Also, I would like to point out that the animation was great in 1998.  Not many games used skeletal animation at the item.

So you're telling me everyone's too broke to pay 10 dollars for the original and nothing else for Sven coop., AND you're THAT picky with graphics?

Kids. Buy the original. A graphic mod shouldn't have been waited on for so many years.

People want to see their favorite game redone with a modern graphics engine.

And Half-Life: Source was definitely not that.

No, it's not. Don't talk about things you obviously don't understand.
So it's not a remake of Half Life 1?

Don't try to cover your tracks. You didn't say that at all, what you said was that it was just 'Half-Life with better graphics', which is untrue. They've also worked to redesign gameplay elements and levels that previously were very terrible to play through. One notable example of this is how they've entirely changed the On A Rail chapter to be less stupid and tedious.

If you took it the wrong way, that's your fault not mine.

"Half-Life with better graphics" != "Half-Life remade", unless of course you'd like to state that graphics are the only defining feature of a game. If someone took it the wrong way it's because of your poor choice of words, don't try to turn that back on them because that's just piling your inability to accept mistakes on top of that.
