Author Topic: Let's write a letter to Mitt Romney!  (Read 14471 times)

I just love how this topic turned into a warzone...

wasn't better when bush was president.

Bush's mistakes:
1. Bail out. (Obama had one of his own to)
2. He failed with border

Bush's notmistakes:
1. Taking out Suddam Hussain(Obama issues the command, but the intelligence that found him was gained from WATER BOARDING), and Osama bin Laden

Obama:
He has been so focused on creating this green energy, regulating businesses and banks, etc. That he is screwing over small business men. Please look up my first post about how small businesses are being screwed over. Obama is no leader, Bush was.

1. It took over one year for my Uncle to get a small Business loan? Really? Thats some nice encouragement of investin!
2. My dad had $30k he wanted to invest. He has excellent credit, but he couldn't' get a small business loan? Why: Because of bank regulations. Thanks Obama! Instead he had to go with a more risky investment. That's some nice encouragement their for small business loans and investing! YEAH OBAMA YOUR AWSOME! YEAHH! SCREWING OVER OUR SMALL BUSINESSES! Have any of you read the birth of plenty? The book talks about how 4 things came together in the 1850's for a revolution in tech, businesses, etc. Those are:

1. Instant communication (Morse code). It use to be that information traveled at the speed of horse. Literally.
2. Fast transportation (Railroads). Read about how piss poor roads have been sense after the decline of the Roman Empire.
3. Protection of intellectual property. AKA copyrights.
4. The ability for capital to free smoothly, and for people not being put into debtors prison if they can't make payments (essentially making it so people actually wanted to invest).

Obama is screwing up with the 4th one. Congrats Obama.

Some more Obama lies:

1. "I will close down Guantanamo bay!" -I don't support the closing of it, but Obama lied. He never closed it.

A site that misinterprets “You Didn’t Build that” has little to no credibility.
Actually, it's interpretation is a direct interpretation of "You didn't build that". I'm not saying it's right, I believe Obama just forgeted up for a second and didn't actually mean that, but it's not by definition a misinterpretation.

I think lol :D was making a stuff thread since he left and now everyone is fighting.

Water Boarding only tells people what they want to hear. Even if you don't know, they'll keep water boarding you until you say something. Then you get shot.

Then everyone lived happily ever after.

Breaking news - Mitt Romney recieves long, meandering, stilted letter, printed from an inkjet printer. One journalist, who had the pleasure to read the letter for himself, calls it a "winding arguement between about 4-5 online adolescents. Many instances of the word 'snake'."

Mitt Romney says on the matter - "What the heck is a Blockland? I don't even know bbcode. I'm going to sleep for a while and think this over"

I like Obama because he is black.

Republicans raise taxes on the middle class because they are too lazy to pay taxes themselves.

This sentence doesn't even make sense.

I wasn't really referring to the ARC Master 1, you said that:

A) The problem with nuclear waste isn't the amount, it's how long it last and the risk of contaminating the environment and hurting humans' health.
    - Actually, the amount is the issue. If there was such a small amount, we could just throw it in the ground like we've been doing.

B) Right now the United States doesn't have anywhere to put nuclear waste. It just sits in a swimming pool in the power plant.
    - It's buried at sites in barren deserts encased in cement. Having nuclear waste in a pool would be catastrophic and would cause a massive outcry for worker safety.
It's obvious you have no idea what nuclear waste is. Nuclear power plants generate two different types of waste: high level and low level. Low level waste is byproducts of nuclear power generation that isn't very radioactive and usually decays very quickly so it isn't much of a concern. I guess it's possible that some of this is just "thrown on the ground".

The real concern is spent fuel, in the form of metal rods/pellets (not the green sludge that it is often portrayed as). It is very radioactive and takes millions of years to decay. However, nuclear power generation is extremely efficient and only produces a small amount of waste. The whole nuclear power industry generates about 2,000 - 2,300 metric tons each year. Even if it seems like a lot, it's nothing compared to the 243 million tons (220 million metric tons) of trash the United Sates produces each year. It's not even close to what a coal power plant produces.

Even though nuclear power generation produces very little waste, the waste it does produce could be very harmful if it contaminated the drinking water supply. High level waste is defiantly not just thrown on the ground.

In the United States most waste is not buried yet and there are currently no plans for a disposal site. Yucca Mountain was proposed but it was scrapped recently. So right now it is just stored in temporay above-ground pods and yes it is also stored in giant pools:

See: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Nuclear_power_in_the_United_States#Waste_disposal

That being said, nuclear power production is really the best option, but to say that waste disposal is not much of an issue is pretty stupid.
