Tau are weak. They're short and physically inferior compared to your average human soldier, and have terrible senses that their advanced wargear only compensates for.

I think that the IG should invest in decent gear and weapons for the individual soldi-bwahahaha.

Don't weapons and armor really fall down to the regiment's home world's technology and industry capacity? In the short term at least, before they break and the regiment needs to be resupplied by Munitorum.
