taylor doesn't only heal, he also has a multitude of poisons and a thingybob that revives incapped allies, given enough time
plus he doesn't have a set weapon so he can pry a fire extinguisher off a wall and lights-out someone
just fyi

Ground:
"Squishy" - Stealth specialist, pretty good for generic ventilation shafts (screw you mythbusters)
Johnathan - Apparently has a rocket launcher
Jenn - More of a sniper, can double as a medic
Tom - Probably the only guy with a spess suit
Rei - The informationist, could probably provide them a map

Space:
David - Poison gas grenades ahoy!
"Big Red" - Evidently we DO need a big bad door buster. (or w/e weapon he uses)
Ulris - "I'll cut you!"
Bronson - Master sergeant shooter person
Tippy - Good for explosive handling and doing kaboomy stuff.

I know I kinda stole Qwepir's suggestion but it's 7 in the morning ok

My guy uses a machine gun that resembles a M1919 from world war 2. He also uses a rocket launcher. He just can't take a hit since he sacrafices armor for more ammo.

Reasoning:
You have no idea what the Iconian military is like, right? Maybe it would be best to not go in guns blazing. Taking the Recon and the Infiltrator would reduce the likeliness of being spotted. Should combat become a necessity, Jen, Squishy, and John have their sniper rifles and machine gun, weapon types notorious for pinning squads down (therefore making retreat easier). Tom may be able to identify whatever the object is.


Space team:
Calvyn
Big Red
Ulris
David
Tippy

Reasoning:
In the confines of a starship, close quarters weapons such as Red's cutting laser, Face and Calvyn's shotguns, and Ulris's swords would be valuable tools. Red's cutter could possibly slice through any closed bulkheads, and should all go well enough, Calvyn may be able to fiddle with the navigation systems to send the ship into the sun or something. If not, Tippy could plant a detpack on something important (or anything that looks important) and ruin the iconians' day in a less subtle manner.

Forgot to mention that the player ship would need to disable weapons on the iconian vessel first.
The reason I'm thinking you should board the spaceship is to steal a bunch of crap. Iconians are some massive interstellar empire, right? Think of the LOOT you could get!
Also if Calvyn gets to the bridge, maybe he could crash the ship into their ground operation. Of course, only once the ground team is at a safe distance.

First of all, we need to know where to go to find the iconian commander, so you make contact with an operative at the capitol of the planet.

: I am Captain Mace of the Privateer's Blade, and I came here with the sole purpose of fighting these iconians. Can you give me specifics of where their ground forces are mobilized?
: They're mostly in the western continent. We know that their commander is doing something near a minor settlement in a forest.
: We would get to him, but their ground forces have our troops occupied. It also doesn't help that they're bombarding population centers from orbit.
: We'll take care of their ship and then be on our way towards their commander.
