Author Topic: EA trying to purchase Valve? wtf?  (Read 5260 times)

Despite the alleged talks of a sale to EA, Valve CEO Gabe Newell said that there was more chance that the 300-strong studio would “disintegrate” than be sold, and was keen to keep its well-documented flat and independent structure.

“It’s way more likely we would head in that direction than say, ‘Let’s find some giant company that wants to cash us out and wait two or three years to have our employment agreements terminate,’” he said.

and forget YOU, EA. You've killed Free Radical, Rare, Maxis, Westwood and many more. You even CONSIDERING buying Valve just shows how little you care about your customers.

If they took activision's approach to blizzard and were all hands-off that would be fine I suppose. Valve gets to make bigger games, EA lives off the table scraps. Giant loving turkeys full of stuffing and glazed hams and jelly tarts and whatnot of table scraps. But yeah.

I love how gabe is like, "haha, forget you"

My god they're really getting desperate. Their ship is going down in flames and they're offering the guys shooting at them a chance to surrender.

Like i have once said before, once EA sinks up its own starfish all the companies it has bought in the past can be re-organised and we will finally get games with more logo splash arts than just plain old "EA". I like the way how i think that the gaming companies that were bough were kidnapped by EA and are being hold hostage and used as slaves to make stuffty games.

stuff i thought i was the only one who thought like this

/highfive

I'll trade you my strange eyelander for your company.

Funny thing is that timesplitters 1 and 2 were made by free radical and edios but then the 3rd game was made by ea games and free radical. Srysl wtf edios made hitman which was a cool game they also made tomb rider but no just no they had to make the third timesplitters with ea! WHY NOT EDIOS WHY!?!?

forget you, EA. That's loving it. I'm done with your stuff. I didn't listen, I always thought that maybe you would turn around one day, and that your business practices would get better. I looked forward to games with your involvement. Now you're never getting my money AGAIN.

DON'T YOU TOUCH MY loving WALLET.

Want to hear a funny joke?

Origin
Origin will become Steam. Everything will have DRM and stuff like Daily Deals would become non-existent.
I'd laugh if EA did buy Valve, but Gabe Newell Secretly made every game on Steam free for a limited time.

I would like to add something on the list of "reasons why EA is stuff"

This one time, I was in a chat with customer support, this is how it went, let's just call the other guy "Tim"

Pengie: Hi, I was just having some trouble with blah blah blah (I forgot what it was)
Tim: Uh yeah uhm
Tim: ALHDEKASHDJ

Disconnected

Not even kidding.
