This has always been a stigma in the community but to get Blockland some real recognition by the handicapped community there may be no choice BUT to port it to Torque 3D, no matter how long it takes.

Of course, there's always problems with that. So much of BL would have to be rewritten. But if all they care is how the game looks..

Man, this sucks.

Goddamnit
Reality check:  I worked for garage games for a year.  Kompressor was the Torque technologies director for like 5 years.  We both think "upgrading" to Torque3D is a bad idea.

I don't see why you guys bash this game. Sure, it's similar to Minecraft, but it does a lot of things better than Minecraft.
lol its like the same thing. people bash blockland and everyone rages, but then they go off and bash other games. how stupid.

Awww, Blockland didn't make it this round.
I sure hope it will be greenlit.

I am fine with most of the choices yet i find it rather sad that Blockscape got through.
Pretty much a higher graphics Minecraft right there. :/
And yet they say that Blockland is a total ripoff..
I guess we aren't ripoff enough? xD

Oh well, next round! DING DING!
Blockcraft, that game where you go to minecraft.net and play Minecraft on an old blocky computer.

I actually think blockscape looks better than minecraft.

OT: Blockland is the best. People just don't realize this yet, but we'll get there.

I hope so but I doubt it, there are new games released on the greenlight page maybe every two days, Blockland is already deep in the page lists, how will new players ever find it? (Unless they search blocks or legos).

Why can't Badspot just put Blocklad on steam like every other company does? (I don't know how Steam works with this) Blockland LLC is already registered, can't Badspot just pay the fee or something to put it in?

Why is everyone so angry?  Now Blockland is ~#55 for when the next wave comes, most likely a month from now.

I wish there was a way to show Valve how much we deserve on Steam.

Tell them that this game has been waiting 8 long years to get on Steam and there's an entire forum dying to get it on Steam.

Blockland is more than a game to me. Blockland is part of my life. No other game even compares to Blockland.

I was thinking we could do a video sort of like Contrast thanking the community and asking for the game to get on Steam and giving really in depth information on the game.

Exactly, all we have to do is wait. It's more than sure that blockland will get on steam eventually, it's no big deal if it doesn't get on steam now. We just have to be patient.

So did Blockland get greenlit yet? or did it get failed or is it still pending?

It's still pending but it's in the top 50.

On Greenlight the "Your Queue" option for queueing shows random games you've not voted for, I think.
So, regardless of how old it is you can still see it.
I still have games showing up on there that were originally posted that I never voted for. So, unless it works differently than that, then it should always have an equally fair chance as any other games.

And really, I would imagine that most of the traffic that goes towards people voting for stuff on Greenlight actually comes from people knowing of a game, being told it is on greenlight and then going to vote for it.
I wouldn't imagine that most of the votes come from people randomly looking at Greenlight.

So, really, as long as we just keep promoting it to all our players (since there is no chance that all of them have voted, since not even all of the active forum members are even aware of Greenlight or have voted), as well as promoting it among other people and spreading it around, then we ought to have a reasonably chance at it.

And just make sure that if you have any friends who play computer games, make sure you tell them to vote for it.
If you go around their house, get on their computer and vote for it anyway. :3
And share it via Facebook or Twitter or whatnot. Just because we didn't get into the very very small selection of titles this time doesn't mean we have to give up.
This topic alone is proof enough of what community support we have and how many people really want to see it go forward. Just keep up the positive attitude and do what you can to promote Greenlight.

I'm not entirely sure how Valve does choose which games get on to Steam, but I would imagine that (as is the case) most games on Steam that just appear on there do infact come from larger developers and publishers.
And they got in because they would have agreements already to put their games up.

Take EA games on Steam for example. EA will have a deal with Steam already that they host all their latest games.
Steam is happy to make this deal because they know that EA will consistently publish games, regularly which will always be bought en masse.

Indie developers aren't really going to be offered this sort of agreement because we aren't repeat providers.
Badspot isn't going to be releasing another game to Steam anytime soon. So it won't be worth their time taking him in this sort of contract if it's for one single game.
They wouldn't likely even offer the sort of deal to Mojang, because they don't regularly pump out games (let alone their whole method of alpha/beta early-purchase/play).

The whole point of Greenlight is for Steam to let smaller games, that don't belong to bigger publishers or developers, get a chance at getting on.
They've set Greenlight up and they expect us to go through the hoops. Which we shall. They won't happily just put us on because we give them more money.

badspot should really give you a "long poster maker" title just for fun lol

There are some people in the Blockscape thingy calling it a Blockland Clone.
