When people call me a redneck because I watch Nascar.
>Not everyone who watches the sport lives in a shack down south...
When people don't consider Nascar a sport, or needlessly say it doesn't require any skill.
>This has been debated several times - Nascar has its own points system where teams compete to race towards a championship title
>You could say the same stuff about any sport...Soccer is just kicking a ball with your foot, big deal...Basketball is throwing a ball into a hoop above your head, sounds really easy...baseball is hitting a ball with a stick, so easy...
People who say this obviously have no idea how fast these cars are actually going (200+MPH) and how they aren't anything like real cars on the street, and how much physics is really involved. People also say how Nascar is just a bunch of left-turns, probably because they wouldn't be able to reach the speeds that they can go if they had to turn left then right then left then right then etc...you would need a track the size of New York City to have lefts and rights and still maintain the 200+MPH speeds.
