Don't take it as thinking it happens constantly.

If you consider the amount of arrests that happen in the US and Europe and other developed countries daily, the absolute tiniest fraction of them are unfair things like this.
It's only because the unfair ones are publicised and outspoken that you hear of them.

Everyone wants to hear of the mother arrested for letting her children play outside, but no one wants to hear of the drug-dealer or burglar arrested.


I'm not saying that this is at all right, and it's clearly bad, but don't let the few cases like this let you develop a negative mentality towards the police. Very few things slip through the net. Sadly things sometimes do, but that's not to say that the police don't provide great services.

the kids being interrogated is far more dangerous than a lawnchair being slightly further away than it should be.

She should know local law and realize that she should have been closer. Obviously in her state or whatever she was required to watch them from a certain distance.
