nobody else can use your key, but you can use them on any of your characters.

follow gearbox's twitter and @DuvalMagic for lots of codes. they give away 5+ keys every weekend and some randomly during the week

the codes are all the same though so it doesn't really matter as long as you follow twitter or facebook (pick 1), and their CEO
