What i'm getting at is you could send someone a trust invite and edit yours/their threads.
This would be great for admins on a server. they could also update threads made by the host.
what do you think?

It's a good idea, but sadly, I doubt it would be implemented.

And it could end badly.

Good idea, though.

hmmmm, would be useful if you're banned and you don't want your thread to die

or you could just be glass and buy $4000 worth of accounts

And it could end badly.
how? if it works like the game trust, you should treat it like the game trust
if someone gives it to the wrong person and has all their hard work hammered in the game, that's their fault
same for it they gave it to someone on the forum and the person vandalized their topic

either way it's not gonna happen. smf doesn't come with a feature like this
or you could just be glass and buy $4000 worth of accounts
you're just trying to take a jab at glass; doing that wont let you edit your previous accounts' posts

Sounds neat but a lot more work that it's worth

They might edit posts with research or stupidity in order to get someone banned or make them look bad.

if they trusted someone to not do that, but they did it anyway, that's their problem
badspot would be able to see who edited anyway, so he would ban the person who's actually at fault

That's still it ending badly

Still a cool idea though.

Not to mention that it would be a lot of work for little payoff.
payoff:
being able to edit threads on a previous account after a ban
being able to keep a thread (for example, a clan thread) up-to-date even in the absence of the actual OP

...I can't think of anything else right now
but those are both good reasons

doing that wont let you edit your previous accounts' posts
exactly
i forgot the part where i mention you spam topics every time you get banned
