Author Topic: Urban Exploration Megathread  (Read 8760 times)

I really want to get into this, but A: I don't know of any friends who are into this, B: I haven't seen many abandoned buildings near me except for a tiny, one floor, house like building that is about the size of a mobile home, is on a major road, and I think has a keeper or something, and C: I have no method of transportation other than a bike.

I'll upload my pictures of a bunker I explored, one sec

Why are you telling me what to say lol?

do u even lift bro?

Sounds cool! Any idea what the place is that he is scouting? Be sure to take some pictures as well.

Not sure what exactly he's scouting, but I haven't heard any specifics from him yet. We actually just got another dude who has a list of potential locations ask to join our group, so we'll try to meet up and go exploring soon. Everyone's been super busy, so maybe we'll wait a while before exploring, but I'll be sure to post pictures if we actually go anywhere.

I wish I knew where to find abandoned buildings.

I didn't have any abandoned buildings near where i lived, but there was a warren of abandoned WW2 army bunkers close by that i used to explore

I want to take this up so bad, but my friends pro'ly wouldn't want to try this out. :\

I would have posted here earlier but the lovely Sandy knocked out my power for 4 days.

For everyone saying they don't know where to look. Unfortunately some places actually don't have many areas. More likely though, they are just hard to find. Try doing an online search for abandoned areas near you. I have the benefit of driving so I can go far distances to search for more buildings but I know most of you can't do that.

As for not knowing who to go with, you would be surprised how many people enjoy Urbex when you just ask.

Hey guys, huge bump. I realize out of the whole forum their is a very small percentage of users who are interested in/partake in Urbex. Because of this I expect to have to bump sometimes, no biggie.

Anyway last night I edited together all of the pictures and video from one of my explorations and uploaded it to my Youtube channel. You can view it here:

Didn't check out the video yet, just bumping, will check out tomorrow.

I'd love to do something like this. Too bad there's nothing abandoned around here... :(

There's a bunch of abandoned mineshafts about an hour from where i live. They're not even marked though, so if you're not paying attention you can fall to your death. Some are even radioactive. I'd like to see if it's possible to explore them sometime though.

I like how the pics posted on the first page have guys in sneakers and shorts when we're told to wear long pants and protective shoes.

That's a pretty loving awful life ending idea. An active mine uses ventilation so people can breath why they're in there. So imagine it's been sitting getting no air letting various gasses buildup. So now there's a bunch of poison stuff down there, no way to know where you're going, and there's a pretty good likelihood of it not being able to support itself for much longer.

Sounds like a pretty good death trap.

About the collapsin part, if you are afraid you should stay under door frames. They are made to support huge portions of mass so they wont collapse so easily. The same applies to staircases.
