Author Topic: Request: Upvote topics in Suggestions and Requests board.  (Read 2176 times)

Simple, if you like a topic OP in Suggestions and Requests, then you can upvote it.  The number of upvotes gets seen in the title of the topic and cannot be edited.  No, it would be a bad idea for downvotes because trolls would do that without even reading the topic or thinking twice about it.

You mean something like this?

Would threads be sorted by vote number?

Would threads be sorted by vote number?
I guess so.

Remember that Badspot can do this :

Quote from: Badspot
Also I hacked this forum section to always be sorted by subject.

probably an option to sort by vote count, like by name/date
i doubt this will happen though

I guess so.

Remember that Badspot can do this :

Yeah, it's not as simple as the fix he did.

I mean, it shouldn't be sorted by votes, because it would be just like the server list.  Good servers being left behind while family RPs are on the top.

It just needs a number before the title, like for instance:

[+23]  Request: Upvote topics in Suggestions and Requests board.

It's meant to draw massive attention to good ideas that the community agrees with.

You mean something like this?

Yes.

Also, every 5 votes would act as a bump, and it would be moved up to the top.

Bump.

To avoid this,...  ^^^

This would be nice, along with a column on the thread list showing number of upvotes, and allowing people to sort by number of upvotes.
And allow the OP to designate the suggestion as fulfilled or dismissed (or if enough people of the community to vote for it)

Also, every 5 votes would act as a bump, and it would be moved up to the top.
I don't like this part, though; If something is very wanted but impossible, it will never go away

This could be done entirely with greasemonkey scripts and torquescript.

except no one likes torquescript.

so lets use php. or something. idk.

point is it could be done by us.
i might possibly maybe possibly attempt this for lulz.

I understand greasemonkey scripts, though I don't understand what you'd use as a central server to store the upvotes.
But torquescript wtf?

Also unless it's an official forum change not enough people would use it for it to be worth it
