Since Claire and I were the only ones at base we had hot love

I went and greeted Alexandria,"How was your first mission flying that beast?"

"Could've used a co-pilot..."

I'm going to assume that evac came in and both Steele and I returned.

"You guys kinda left without letting me know"

I remain quiet, fiddling with things in my pockets. "Well I need to check on greasemonkey." I say, walking off.

Moderator who's probably going to do jack stuff reporting for duty sir.
so wait are you volunteering or what
I wake up in a hospital bed.
"God dammit. That loving sucked."

I hop out of my jet, watching Steele get carted off to the med bay. I walk over to the mess hall and grab some coffee before returning to my dorm.

so wait are you volunteering or what

Yes indeed.

Yes indeed.

*Walks up to Steele*

"Mr. Steele, I'm sorry to interrupt, but your engines are in very poor condition and I will need to order all new engines for the plane.  It's a miracle that you landed safely, actually..."

Look, SWAT, I'm not one to complain about other people's writing styles, but it irks me when you do the whole "*x does y*" thing, and not speaking in quotations. Most of us are using this sort of novel or story style format, and while I'm not saying it's mandatory, it may get confusing.

I return to base. The damage tally on my plane: one engine completely shot, hydraulic lines to my rudder are shot, left wing has more holes than a sieve, and I'm missing a nosecone. Most of the action I got came from close air support. There happened to be a FAC operator in the group of soldiers we were defending and I decided to remain dedicated to them. As a result, most of my kills were soft armor.

I walk into the hospital room where Jacov is being treated. I heard he got it pretty bad, and the expression on his face told the whole story. I felt empathetic towards him. Hell, anyone would be pretty sad after losing an F-35B.

"You alright? You took a pretty heavy loss back there..."

I go to my bed and fall asleep. Depressed for some reason.

It was an SAR mission.
My plane blew up.
I'm in a hospital bed.

"Yeah, I'll be fine. I'll recover quickly, the doctors say, but not much faster than normal. I loved that damn plane though. Handled like a dream. Now it's just a few million dollar's worth of scrap metal scattering their destroyed radar base."

I stood in the doorway, leaning on the doorframe. I sigh. "Take this as a learning experience, be very very careful."

"Yep. Although, flares can't deflect bullets, you know. Next time I'll jam the airbrakes and let him overshoot."
