"All three fighters are down."
"Alright, we're there. Taking out anti-aircraft defenses so you can bomb the hell outta the place."

"Roger."

My anxiety kicks in. I begin to tap my fingers on the console nervously as I watch the screen for missile locks.

"Three SAM sites remaining."
I fire a missile at the first SAM, then blow the second to shreds with my MG.
"One SAM site remaining."

A beeping noise resounds through my headset. I quickly pull the trigger on my joystick, releasing the chaff. A missile whizzes the B-1.

"Contact." I choke out while hyperventilating.

"Rookie. Relax," I say, firing an AGM at the remaining SAM.

"That was a SAM, don't worry."
I let Sierra take down the last SAM site, then sink one of the oil sites by destroying the supports.
"Aim for the supports, they'll go down easy."

"Hey Gauss, calm down. 2 minutes to target."

I nod, though I can sense nobody can see it.

"Right. Focus."

"Commence bombing of mission area," says Sky Eye.

"Woo American is winner," I say, again sarcastically. I fire a few AGMs at some oil rigs, taking them down.

bombs upon bombs upon bombs fall out of the B-1s bomb bay, leveling the facility.

"Well considering it lit up like the Fourth of July, and then became darker than my poetry, yeah I'd say we can return to base."

(Electromagnetically-charged bolts?)  :3

"Sky Eye here. Five fighters inbound. You are not cleared to engage, return to base immediately."
"forget that, I'm engaging."
"Dammit Talon, DO NOT ENGAGE. It's the enemy's ace squadron! The Yellows! Get the hell out!"

did i mention that's an actual plot twist in game?
