Author Topic: Campaign Speech  (Read 1263 times)

To me it just seems like a position of self-esteem.  The student government just serves as a simple "representative".
I guess yes, but it will also look good for scholarships and job applications.

I was bribed with brownies.
Yes, chocolatey that gives me the stuffs won a vote for her.

Anyone think they could give a basic outline for a speech?

Campaign poster designs?

Give the people what they want.

Give the people what they want.
I'm not the dang president.

I don't know what the people want from the treasurer

Be a good TREASURERERERERERERERERER

"This is what has come to my mind - almost shout (with a big smile)
"SHOW ME THE MONEY! VOTE FOR (YOUR NAME) FOR TREASURER" and have your friends hold up a very large banner with this wording. You may even want them to continue to hold up the banner while you are talking. Your name should be in large and colorful letters so they will remember it.

Ask "Why would (YOUR NAME) make a good treasurer? Let me count the ways - -
Briefly tell your qualifications for this post - - possibilities are
- - you have your own checking account and have never overdrawn - - you have always liked math - - you have made good grades in math - - you are meticulous in keeping records - - you have served in some other student position - - you are enthusiastic about participating in student government and have the time to give this post the attention it
deserves.

Then, at the end, say "YES, SHOW ME THE MONEY! VOTE FOR (YOUR NAME.)
While you are saying this, have your helpers throw candy gold coins throughout the audience. (If you have a very large auditorium, you could have several friends stationed at various locations with a few "gold" coins.

Keep your speech short and snappy. Look your fellow students in the eyes and speak up so they can hear you. Practice, practice, practice your speech! Tell it to your cat, tell it to your mother, tell it to your father, tell it to anyone or anything willing to listen. Then, when you get up in front you will know exactly what you are going to say. Have one practice with your friends who will hold the banner and throw the coins so you and they can get a feel for where they need to stand and what they need to do.

One other thing - you might want to run off copies of your name via computer on gold sheets and attach your name to each "gold" coin. The more familiar the students are with your name, the more likely they are to vote for you; political candidates call this "name recognition."

Wynd if someone did that at my school I'd rape them.

I can't tell if that's meant to be a good thing. But I don't think so...?

Opinions on my speech so far?

I have 8 days to fix it up

Hello Class of 2015. My name is Andrew and I am running for the position of Treasurer of our Class. I’m the best man for this position because I am a responsible, hard working student determined to help make this one of the best years for our class. Along with the others of the student council I will work hard and listen to your ideas and thoughts on how we can improve or change things in our class and school. But I can’t do this without the help of you, my fellow students. A vote for me is one less abused dog!

Andrew is a good name, so you have that going for you. But that speech is boring. Unless you're really good looking, you'll lose their attention.
