The Eye of the Storm
Don't go outside
Plot:Day 1:
The weather has been a bit... off lately. It's changing a bit daily, but nobody seems to care. It IS American weather, with all that smoke we're throwing into the sky it's amazing this didn't happen sooner. Maybe this will blow over soon enough and I can stop worrying about nothing.
Day 6:
It's getting more noticeable and people are starting to finally understand that something is wrong. I'm NOT worrying about nothing, because there's no way in Hell this is normal.
Day 20:
It's nothing but wind now. Wind everywhere. Wind by day, wind by night. It's picking up speed by the hour.
Day 42:
A bit of dust and dirt is starting to take flight. God knows from where, but we've been ordered to be indoors if possible by the government. Something is going on, and I bet the government knows.
Day 121:
It's become a dust storm out there. Half of the people you'd see outside has been halved by this. We're being given emergency supplies, but we have to go outside to get them, because they're being dropped in different sections of the city. I'll go out and nab any that land on the roof, but other than that I've hardly eaten or drank anything in ages.
Day 408:
...I don't think this is ending anytime soon...
If you don't get it by now an unexplained dust storm has covered the Earth, making it impossible to go outside for more than five minutes unless every opening on your body is covered and you have a dozen gallons of water. A lot of people have starved and now we just have bandits running around New York looking for ways to not get killed by each other. Anyone outside New York has probably drowned in dust by now or starved while trapped in something. It's not good.
Current Status of New YorkThere's only about half an inch of dust on the ground, but in the air visibility is about a foot and a half. Bandits are scurrying from building to building, because the inside of buildings is just like it used to be (Aside from a third of supplies missing). It's just that the outside is coated with dust.
You're going to need protection and to be fast if you want to survive outside.

Rules of the Road1. No godmodding. Just no.
2. You can't pull a weapon out of your ass. This is very common. I've done it before. (considered godmodding)
3. I decide whether or not an action is possible, along with whatever mods I might've had come along.
4. Above rule's ruling is decided by a vote.
5. Don't be an ass, if you find a loophole, don't exploit it.
6. Don't be stupid, and claim you have a million bullets, or something along those lines.
7. Dramatically changing the environment to your gain is considered godmodding.
8. You may not force a player into a drastic action, unless it's something obvious like them falling if you tackle them. If they suddenly stop posting, you can carry them around and stuff, but other than that, you can't control them. You can't kill them either, unless specified by the person getting killed in a post.
9. No walking around outside without protecting your face holes. I can't stress this enough.
10. Break these rules three times, and I kick you out. No if's, and's, or but's.
Now go and survive.
