Because, I mean, the last thing we want to do is legalize marijuana and completely obsolve the country of any debt causing surplus which boosts the economy and tourism leading to more jobs and lowering the unemployment rate, all while putting money back into US farmer's pockets instead of drug dealers on the street in foreign cartels, also decongesting the prison system and freeing up police resources which helps to lower taxes.
What the forget are you talking about? Legalizing marijuana would not "completely [absolve] the country of any debt" and would not boost the economy, and would definitely not have any boost on tourism. What are people going to visit America to smoke pot? No, they can already do that at home. The amount of jobs created would not be enough to have any noticeable effect on the employment rate, no idea where you got that from, and US farmers arent dirt stuff poor so I assume you meant they would be as wealthy as drug dealers which is, gasp, also not true. Drug cartels make so much money because of the illegalization, they can hike up prices. Yes it would have an effect on those on prison, but only after there sentences were over. They still broke the law and have to serve time, its not like once marijuana is legal all those in prison for a reason relating to it are suddenly innocent of breaking the law. Plus we'd have to shell out a bit of money to regulate marijuana just as we do with alcohol and tobacco. Youre an idiot and the last person who should have made a topic discussing the legalization.
I dont care if people smoke, but Id rather them have to smoke on their own property or something so I dont have to smell it. In a perfect world all non-medicinal drugs as well as alcohol would be illegal and people would stop trying to fix their problems through substances and would instead realize theyre responsible for ruining their own life, but we dont live in a perfect world.
