Wouldn't it be awkward to model square-ish rollerblades?

Otherwise if you had a model most of the code from the default skies could be used.

No, but the only hard part is the animation to actually rollerskate.

We don't need to animate them, if they run on the principle(and code) of the skis(Aka ski reskin) or that of motor-powerd shoes?
