i started with a pearl kit with Sabian symbols. i play electronic kits mostly but i use a ludwig with zildjian A customs and a scimitar bronze china.

well I'm being serious. unless he's gonna learn a cool percussion instrument, instead of just lame snares, he should learn something that sounds good. like piano.
course if he doesn't mean just even a drumset, but things like marimbas or quads (or any other tenor set) if he's interested in marching, then ya it totally sounds like a good idea to me

I played piano for 7 years. It sucked because the user base or copyrights or whatever means that there are no song lessons on the internet and you have to pay to loving have any music sheets.

I think drums sound really good lol.
I know it doesnt really make a song by itself  but when you just play and do whatever you want it can be really fun. Plus you get to hit things so it relieves stress c:

yeah they make good accompaniments to a song, but otherwise you have to be really good for them to sound good. I'm not even sure if one single person can make a drumset good. but some of the cadences our drumline plays sound cool regardless

find a midi somewhere, and open it in a program like musescore, which is free. it's basically sheet music at that point

Why are you insulting drumming? It is a totally legitimate and respectable instrument.
Stop going all "piano master race" and getting up on your high-horse.

I hate it when people look down on drums because "it's just hitting things". Drumming takes a lot of skill and hard work to get good at.
If you think otherwise then you obviously don't know a thing about it.
Have you even tried drums? Do you play drums? If not then you have no say in which is better to learn.

think of piano as that pretty decor inside that house

both needed, both look bad without eachother.
