If Miga was so attached and felt so strongly against seeing MLP fans then I suppose it was best for him to leave.
Although I can't help but feel it was a little bit unnecesarry for that sole reason.
I know some people really do get attached to the Forums, and make it a big part of their lives, posting what can sometimes seem constantly throughout the day, but I never found it to have such a strong hold on me, personally.
Sure, I've been here for 4 years, and I've had years where I've posted a large amount (reasonably), but I've also had large periods where I've gone months or more without posting, let alone viewing the forums.
I suppose I just find it a bit silly that someone should be so annoyed with MLP or other such things that it causes them to ditch what is a big part of their lives. I've never had an interest in MLP, and I've seen it some topics and things, but I've never cared if someone posts an image of it or a quote from it in a topic not about it. I think perhaps you do spend too much time here if you really can't ignore it. And especially if it drives you to frustration.
And Miga's words on finding better communities, is a little bit silly. There are better Anime or Phone Hacking or Art Forums than the Blockland Forums. Well of course there are. Because Blockland isn't a forum dedicated to that. It's a Forum dedicated to a computer game, and the forum also happens to have an Off-Topic section where anything gets discussed, even if it's not a discussion.
And when you consider how small the community is on here;
40178 forum members
4282 members with keys registered
13243 members have made at least one post (many of these are from before key registration)
4039 members who have a key registered and have made at least one post.
There is really not much change in the way the community acts. Very few new members really stay around to constantly post. And there are plenty of active members here who were just as active 2, 3, 4 or more years ago.
Perhaps Miga did notice that there were more idiots come 2010 and onwards. Or perhaps he had just grown up a bit, and previously he was as immature as those he calls "idiots".
My first posts, back when I was 13, are still quite as stupid as those you get these days from young members.
I don't think the community got any worse, Miga just matured some more. Which isn't a bad thing.
Anyway, for whatever reason Miga decided to leave, whether it was made out of the best logic or not, atleast he's happy in a new community.
I would hardly say that the Blockland community is a place so vile you'd never want to enter, since it can have it's silly or immature moments, but it's also a perfectly interesting, fun, lively and well-to-do community.
Just the community spirit you can see in the Development or Mod Discussion or Help or Gallery or Creativity, or even on Off Topic boards show that.
