I think you're wrong. Assuming god has a whole heaven hell thing going on, he probably wouldn't pity people for being shot, but rather for what they've done.

God doesn't have control over your individual life (though he knows what you will do).
He does not hate anybody.
Being gay isn't always genetic.

Besides just getting murdered doesn't mean instant heaven, at least from what I know. A soldier who dies in the field while murdering dozens of his country's enemies doesn't get sent to heaven, now does he?
