I think you're wrong. Assuming god has a whole heaven hell thing going on, he probably wouldn't pity people for being shot, but rather for what they've done

It could draw out different emotions. Like, if I simply say 'a dead puppy' chances are you're not going to be too affected. On the other hand, if I showed you an image of a dead puppy it might cause a different reaction. There's a difference between telling someone about something and showing them the same thing.
