No you dont, because no one was arguing that fat was healthy.
Fat is unhealthy.
News person is being fat on TV.
A bad message is being sent to the younguns.

Um no. Children arent going to see an overweight newscaster and think "Hmm, being fat is healthy and I think thats attractive"

Youre using the same mentality that parents use against violence in videogames.

mostly it should just tell them how not to be, imo.

well, think of it this way. They see fat person on tv, shows that it's acceptible, and that they wouldn't be the only ones who were that way if they did become fat. It's not that its something to be embraced, just something that's already out there, so they wouldn't feel alone or real different.

Okay, let's step back into reality.

This would never happen. Ever.

it would just show that others are fat. People wouldn't want to be that way but some of them do end up that way. Makes more sense than people wanting to be fat anyway.

I didn't say only country. Japan and China have 5% or less. They are first world countries. The UK is a little bit less than us, and they are first world and have primarily the same ethnicity.
China has tons of starving peasants. And it's a second world country.

EDIT: And I'm way underweight. Why do so few people heckle me when it could easily stunt my growth (didn't, in my case, lol) whereas being overweight can...what? Shorten your life a few uncomfortable years?

it shortens your life a few uncomfortable years while making every other year five times more uncomfortable, there is a reason i will never let myself get overweight.

Losing weight is easy. It doesn't require exercise, just eat less.

People gain weight when they have a greater input of calories than output. Regardless of any genetic conditions, having less input than output will cause you to lose weight. The only conditions where this is not healthy is when the difference is super big.

lol no
my mom has been eating one to two very small meals per day and shes fat, and by small meal I mean like a handful of rice or something similar

That's not how weight loss works, not eating weakens your bones and your body. Fat stores fat solubles and calories, it doesn't store water solubles that are required for your body to work. The best thing she can do is run and do some 200 crunches a day.

Because chances you're someplace where you wouldn't be bothered about being overweight either.
Not to mention being underweight is generally percived as being much easier to fix, weather or not it actually is.

It's not like they'll look up to one fat person for being fat.
But in general socicity seems not only to have stopped caring, but to go out of it's way to make unhealthy people not see the need for a lifestyle change.

but if the news anchor said (not saying she did) "Eat healthy and be active" or something like that it sounds pretty hypocritical

Wow, The woman has a good point.

Would you rather overweight kids being called fat and teased at school feel alone and different?
