On top of that, the right to bear arms is probably one of the least important rights of the bill of rights.
Well thats the one meaning. To many a militia is a group of armed civilians ready to fight their government should it not serve its purpose or because oppressive.

So anyway as far as the assault weapon ban goes it is pointless. Look at the state of California where it is impossible to get gun, yet look at the high crime. Plus the calibre an assault weapon fires is strong enough to take out small-low end medium game. So if you think a gun ban is effective look at our war on drugs.
Personally I have no idea for such a weapon, because a simple handgun, bolt action, or ranch rifle should fit my needs for hunting/home defense. Nothing military grade. Now what the government should look it is some police reform because right now we are seeing more and more cops on the street in camoflauge, breaking code and violating peoples rights. Some departments feel that they are at war against the same citizens that pay taxes which fund them.
Also our military is overfunded, and is spending millions on stuffty equipment like the strkyer, f22, f35, stealth ships, and other hitech things that a simple ied or convential force could take out. Perhaps we should consider buying better things or cutting the flow and putting it places like feeding the poor.
Special Interest groups and lobbying also needs to go. forget the power hungry overlords and the moms of america assosciation.
Also I am tired of our country fighting other peoples wars when they don't want our help or being the police of the world. Everyone hates us now and calls us imperialists.
With tax funded healthcare, smokers and alcoholics are problematic since most of them are low class and spend most of their money on things that kill them and we just take care of them at our expense. So Drug education and prevention programs need improvement.
