Author Topic: Blockland is being seen as a threat/virus by Norton  (Read 2927 times)

I tried downloading the current version of Blockland from blockland.us and after I downloaded it Norton brings up a message saying that a threat has been found in Blockland. Whenever this notification comes up the Blockland_Setup.exe gets deleted from my computer.

I click view details and it gives me a link I can click, http://securityresponse.symantec.com/security_response/writeup.jsp?docid=2010-051308-1854-99&vid=4294919973&prod=scss

I do believe this is false, there are just many obvious reasons why Blockland is clean. Norton tends to be silly sometimes. Is anyone else having this problem? Someone with Norton try downloading Blockland and see what happens.

Norton thinks everything is a virus. Try it with something else?

norton lmao that thing pisses me off

norton is stuff, seriously. it literally ruins the computer's performance on my laptops.

I know, the problem is with new users who may have Norton like I do. They will want to try out Blockland and think its a virus because of this stupid misconception by Norton.

Norton is pretty good, it can perform full scans without impacting my performance. I can have it run a full scan and play BF3.

AntiVirus is useless for any virus that isn't common. "Being smart" is the best protection.

get kaspersky pro
it's the ultimate best you can get out there

I still have Blockland on my main computer, the computer im using to download Blockland was on my spare laptop. It has Win7 and the latest version of Norton.

When theres a update, my antivirus always tells me it is a threat.

Nothing much to worry about..

whoa whoa whoa
