Author Topic: I'm getting constant lag spikes when playing online games  (Read 795 times)

It's been going on for a while now, and I'm not sure what to do about it.

Every time I'm playing a game that has online play I get these 5 second lag spikes (not a graphical kind. the type where everything stops and I jolt about everywhere when I try to move) every minute or so. It's terribly annoying.

I have no idea how these network things work, but my computer is working from a router. Other computers in my house aren't experiencing lag spikes like these (I think) so I think it has something to do with my computer.

Edit:
And when I tried hosting a server on Blockland, people would be able to connect, but they would disconnect after a while from an authentication error. I'm certain it's the same as my problem. Now I can't even host properly anymore.

Any help at all? It would be greatly appreciated.

I can explain more in detail the best I can.

maybe your adapter is screwed up or something

That could be a reason... I can try and test it somehow, but I will look into it..

remove any dust in your router, check the antenna, read manual (who does?), Reset the router or change position.

Unhelpful post and stupid.

Have you tried to play anything offline?
Something that doesn't have massive service?

Maybe try playing offline games?

^^ this post is unhelpful and stupid ^^

Thanks for the feedback, I'll try these out as soon as I can.

Is your computer connecting to the router wirelessly?
If so, you may either need a new/better adapter.

i've been having this EXACT same problem too! and it just started for me 30 mins or so ago!

New Zealand is spying on you.
