Would a password field be beneficial?

Yeah
Nah
Pointless, its like putting a safe in a safe.

I hate it when Steam does this.

You can disable that on Steam. :/

This sounds silly. It would be a safe in a considerably easier to break into safe.

i doubt this would make much of a difference. any method used to steal the key could also theoretically be used to steal the password

Yeah you're right. Is there currently a way to "reset" your key if a ton of people are using it? Lets say somehow someone got your key and a ton of people are using it, is there to fix this? Im just wondering how the key system works. I think it does log IP addresses for each key.

well yeah it logs ip because otherwise badspot wouldn't know who's using what key

aside from that, you can't 'reset' the key

I didn't mean reset, I meant like a way to kick everyone off the key and then be able to give it back to the original user. Im guessing if the master server does keep a log, Badspot could see what IP registered with the key the very first time and verify it with a forum account or something.

I think you got a bit mixed up, you need Key AND password.

All someone needs to do is find out your password and you could potentially get locked out. Chances are if you manage to lose your key, no password will help you lolol.

Let me rephrase that, "chances are if you manage to lose your key, you'll be stupid enough to lose your password".

I have another question, is the key system from Amazon or blockland.us? Kind of silly question but I have a distinct memory of the key generated on amazon.com. However I could just be confused.

blockland.us.

amazon is used as a purchasing medium, like paypal.

Think of it like this:
-Users keys get in the hands of - Everyone
-Change password: instant fix
This.

I like this idea.

you still need access to a system that controls the password

If you give your key to someone else you deserve to have it revoked, not just blocking people.

well yes, but suppose it's stolen?

Maybe a login on the Blockland site?
