Somewhat unrelated, but while eating an entire pound of salt isn't healthy, having a good amount of salt in your diet is better than having like, two grams per day.
everything in moderation

This is not how population growth works, we have population growth because we have enough resources to maintain it, once we no longer have resources the population will begin to either A: die or B:stop reproducing as much, either due to famine, plague, war, or the inability to sustain a family. Let's look at some crazy stuff in history where this happened. The black plague killed off a large chunk of the european population, this benefitted the society by decreasing its population, thus decreasing resource usage, which created an abundance of resources. This abundance of resources made it possible for there to be more artisans, meaning more technological advancement.

Besides, most of the people who get cancer are old and are going to die soon anyway.

I keep trying to hammer this into the people who thing curing cancer is a bad idea.

while our population grows, fertility rates are deceasing a lot so eventually we will balance out the population

No, this is bad because it lowers the genetic gene pool, leaving our population open to disease as well as handicaping our ability to evolve as quickly as we do now.

curing cancer is a bad idea because then Chuck Norris's tears would lose purpose and no one would beg for him to cry any longer, and he won't get any attention.

When Chuck Norris doesn't get attention, he gets angry.

<get cancer

<wtf guys cure me

let's not cure a fatal medical condition because the people that we save will use more resources than maintaining them in hospitals while we search for a cure

Watch, OP's going to get deadly star fish cancer and he'll be like "oh no guys I will die" and we would be like "its okay because the population is to much anyways"

you're right

infact, why don't we nuke a city? y'know, not a big city, just a small town or two..

Curing cancer is bad for the economy, that's why it hasn't been done yet.

we take the citizens and kill them

personally

Lower fertility rates might slow down the rising population, but what about in the long run when there are fewer humans and most of the population can't reproduce? I know the answer, but do you?
