In-Blockland-Menu-Private Messages?

I was thinking of making a passworded server, and some of the people that I want to invite, don't have forum accounts, or IGSO, so I can't tell them the password. So I was thinking "what if there was an in game private message system?" I know that there's IGSO, but I can't talk to people who don't have it. Maybe Blockland could have a system in the main menu where you can message all Blockland players that have an internet connection. Is this possible?

Except it would be public, unless you wanted to give each person a passworded account with an exclusive RSS feed. If you were looking for instant messaging, you'd probably have more luck using IRC, if you wanted to send a pm type thing, then you would be better off using a bulletin board system and storing the messages on some other server.

Randy's PM system is completely server sided, that'll only work on servers that have it though, unfortunatly the only servers i see using it are MotE ones, even though it was publicly released.

As Wedge said, IRC is probably the best option for IM. But if you just want to said a simple 'note'. You could just use some basic PHP code, but it would have to be customized for each person.

I'd go with the IRC, because it's been done before with moderate success in RTB.
