I think she's deserving of a life sentence. And the fact that the americans can actually give a life sentence, guaranteed to go on for a persons entire life, is something I regret not having in the UK. For similarly horrible offences we can give "life" of a maximum of 25 years. It's charming that a person could theoretically go into prison with a "life" sentence 3 times.
If you kick and bite and hit a toddler, a small defenceless creature entirely dependent upon other people, then you deserve to be removed from society, regardless of if you're the mother of the toddler or if you have background issues.
By putting a toddler into a coma you have proven that you can not act as a proper member of society, especially not a member with children.
Hearing that she has another child after the incident is also cause for alarm.
She's just going to keep on doing it.
Perhaps if you've accidentally hurt your child, something slightly more minor, then maybe I'd be happy for you to return to being it's parent after going through rehabilitation courses and parenting courses.
If you put your child in a coma then you don't deserve to be allowed back near children again, nor does the child deserve to have you near them.
