I'm working on designing a few more.

The problem with them is that particles always turn to face you, so you end up with the holograms that were previously coming out of a computer turning and intersecting walls, and looking dumb in general.

I'm going to try a few spherical and cylindrical holograms next, they might work better.

Anyway, these are great for screenshots (since people can only see what you show them) and if you put them in the center of the room, so they can rotate without looking awful.

Particle emitter datablocks don't have a faceviewer option unfortunately, if it did you could've simply popped it in and marked it false to keep the particles from facing you all the time.

try messing with orientParticles or whatever.

You can make them stop orienting side to side, but up and down still orients them I think.

Well, up and down isn't a problem, since it would primarily be used in a room or on a computer.

I just tried using it. The up and down quit orienting, which was nice. But it kept orienting so it faced me.

Now this is really bizarre, it also rotated my particle by 90 degrees, so the world appeared sideways.

I looked through a few tutorials, and there doesn't seem to be a way to keep them from rotating left and right. I'll just go work on some more emitters.
