Ransack their wares like normal adventurers

It will gents.

I've just been having a bit of personal trouble is all. Things are on their way

GONNA IGNORE ALL OF YOUR COMMANDS FOR NOW BECAUSE WE HAVE IMPORTANT MENENVERSE PLOT TO EXPOSE!
(also sorry for hiatus, girl troubles and depression, but good news is we're back together and I'm seeing a thearpist! but that's not the story you care about!)

Ok, so...

: Alright you flushbucket dongleoid. Time to get this whole death thing over with... I guess. I can't believe it, you're an anomaly and then you die in like, three seconds? It's like, either the Harbinger is having a sick joke or there's something else entirely sinister about all of this. Either way, I could give no forgets.

Ask for a second chance since you died so quickly? Maybe it would be better to ask him if it would be fair to have a second chance.

that's the coolest afterlife i've ever seen
a nice break from boring stuff like a cloudy land

nope
just surreal landscape everywhere

What part of the Ethereal is this? Why is there a sun?

What part of the Ethereal is this? Why is there a sun?

Remember, I explained there are several realms to the Ethereal, there's the Mysterious Mountains (the purple area your adventure is currently in), Fields of Tranquility (the white area that's constantly experiencing autumn, but the leaves never fall).

This is Blood Bay, an area around Persistence Valley next to the Red Sea (the Ethereal's Red Sea that is).

Basically the Ethereal is a constantly evolving landscape. So like Yosher said,

just surreal landscape everywhere

This is both a writer's convenience but also more my own interpretation of afterlife and what it could be while still in the context of this universe we're creating.

Ask for a second chance since you died so quickly? Maybe it would be better to ask him if it would be fair to have a second chance.

: Hey, uh, skeletal guy.

: Zane.

: Oh, uh, hi, Zane. Name's Tup-

: Yeah, I know your name, get on with it.

: Right so, uh, cool. Do you think that maybe you could, like, make me not dead?

: What, like undead? Yeah, I could do that I guess. No one's ever really asked for that before.

Jerry: Raise

In a high-steak game against death incarnate, you cannot quit.

Um, ask for another second chance, and this time ask for him to bing you back to actual life.  Not undead.
