Author Topic: Rant about some of the Weapons we Have  (Read 8037 times)

I hate it when people talk about "Realistic" weapons on the game. Like having a bunch of stupid instant-kill, low-quality guns is fun. This is a lego game. Not call of duty. I hate SGT. A. Walters weapons the most. They are horrible. Next up is probably Gravity Cat's modern guns.

Bushido's tier tactical is the perfect balance. I love his guns. They manage to maintain that cartoonish feel to them while having acceptable realistic aspects to them. They have beautiful models and great sounds and animations and perfect damage outputs. Gravity cat's and SGT. A. Walters guns possess none of these qualities. They have choppy low-quality models, bad animations, bad sounds, and in general just have this bad feeling to them that I compare to a bad interior terrain map, whereas Bushido's guns remind me of a beautiful brick build.
I personally think that tier tactical feels very sluggish and not fun to use. A couple of the weapons are oversized / look very wierd and also have these messed up stats that I don't understand ( 18 shot assault rifle ?). The light machine gun for example is a total pain in the ass to use as it barely has any fire rate , the accuracy is horrible , it slows you down and will often not kill it's target. I don't really care about the model's that much as long as it doesn't look like utter crap though. But I really like Tier+Tactical melee weapons - those are very well made. I can live with T+T but it's simply not my favorite weapons pack.

However I cannot agree when you say that Gravity cat's unreleased firearms have choppy low quality models , bad animations ( it uses brick animations ) or bad sounds. They're neither instant kill or low quality. They're simply not done yet ( Missing damage balancing etc.). I don't know when you checked them out the last time but comparing them to stuff like Sgt Walter's weapons is a bit extreme.

After all everyone has a different taste in weapons and one cannot change that.

What is the point of this topic?
Every played is entitled to his own opinion, many players like realistic weapons so who are you to say there shouldn't be realistic weapons, this is a sandbox game after all.

I like realistic good looking weapons, like Blockcombat, Gravity Cat's weapons, L4D. But not Sgt Walters/BF3 weapons or other low quality weapons

The point is I hate people making weapons that don't fit in with the game.

I honestly don't mind the hands, but I can agree with pretty much everything else.

I agree.
Also ammo for weapons is stupid if you ask me. I don't mind if you have to reload, but having limited ammo doesn't fit.

You gotta be kidding me. It all boils down to what the add-on maker wants to make for himself and see what the public say. HE makes it, spends time extruding things, scripting, etc. etc. While he is working his arse off trying to make everything correspond to his bidding, you're bitching at him to completely change everything he worked on the entire time and start from scratch because "they have hands".

I oppose this stuff rant because its the decision of the actual add-on maker to make what he wants, not the public.

So basically your saying he should make and see what the public say, but then change nothing about what the public say that should to make it better?

You know what I hate? This.

Great! Let's bash the half the loving community and go on a crusade about how- NO ONE GIVES A forget ABOUT YOUR OPINION. Just go home and do something, I mean seriously, you think that this topic is going to change people from thinking 'Oh I just slogged about 10 hours over this weapon I've made, let's put some iron sights on it!' If they want to do that, let them do it.

Or you could pretty much forget about this whole clusterforget and you know, NOT loving DOWNLOAD THE WEAPONS AND/OR PACKS.

Seriously, some of you guys post in some of these poor forgeters topics, and pretty much flame them because you think your self righteous ways of making weapons the right way are so loving amazing. Jesus Christ, it's a joke.

Defining better is in the eye of the add-on maker. What he thinks is better may not go to your viewpoints of a "better" weapon. In fact, better could mean a few minor script changes! Hell, I don't know! But what I do know is add-on makers certainly don't have to give into these demands from this little bunch of screaming kids "BUT THAT WEAPON ISNT WHAT. I. WANTED!!!!"

Just because we say something should be remove/added to make it fit in more doesn't mean were flaming them.

I say if 5 or 4 people say it needs to be changed, it should be changed. People should be willing to change something if there going to release it to the public.

Bolded: Well sure, but you're not just "saying" something. You're outright verbally harassing them saying "MAN WOW YOU'RE USING HANDS AND HANDS loving SUCK OH MY GOD THIS IS TERRIBLE". You could say, "You know this add-on is great, but the hands are not my favorite part of it. Maybe you could release two different versions of it? Thanks."

Five people? Hell no that's way too little. More like twenty people pointing out a bug is when something needs to be changed.

In my eyes its five, but I guess in others it could be more.

Okay, great! Now you can share that opinion with a few others, that's fine! Just please don't act like this is a goddamn religious crusade of "No hands no hands ever again!" as the slogan.
