Major difference between popular and good.

Running Acid3 test for Opera and Chrome, both passed 100/100 but Opera runs faster every time.
Then there's the memory usage that people have posted. Chrome using about twice as much.

I can run any of those that are tagged as "Not WebGL" in Opera.

Clearly the secret behind this is that Chrome comes with a preinstalled technology platform that they did not share.

Chrome runs each extension in a new process, so if the extension crashes, the entire browser doesn't crash with it.
