Author Topic: Getting a used 2000 Toyota Celica GT  (Read 3423 times)

So being in the position of not having much money to work with, I went in search of a cheap used car. I found a $3,950 2000 Toyota Celica GT which I hope to haggle down a few hundred (or have my dad haggle). Ignore the mileage (225,000 miles). It has good MPG (34) and I like the look of it. What do you guys think?

Lolbucketseats

This would be the first car that I get to own, so I don't really care about some cosmetic things. I.E. bucket seats.

That's a fantastic deal. Nice car too.

ugh, the interior. the outside of it is aight tho

The back seats looks likes bowls man, i would hate to sit in those :'c

I like.

The outside looks very nice, it has a good fast and sporty look to it. I also see it has an aftermarket stereo installed which is always nice. The back seats look very odd though...

Overall it looks very nice, congrats.

225k miles

holy stuff

but not bad :)

Yeah the mileage is pretty extensive but Toyotas are built to last (The one's my family's owned at least)
Also whoever wants a ride from me can deal with the bucket seats so...
I'm glad that I'm getting pretty much positive feedback, makes me feel even better about getting this car.

Drive around picking up Blocklanders

Blockheads would be the only people that could actually be comfortable in the back seats  :cookieMonster:

not always
my mom's car has a really nice one by default. replacing it would cause at least one problem, that it wouldn't match the car anymore. possibly it could also mean the loss of Bluetooth functions among other things

Bluetooth is never used by me so I hope it won't affect me that much, if this car even had bluetooth capabilities in the first place.
Also I should be able to get the car by Sunday so I guess I'll bump this topic with pictures on said day.

it probably didn't, since its from 2000, and it's not a really expensive luxury car (Bluetooth was a thing then, right?)

Some cars come with very nice stereos. My moms new car came with a rather nice touchscreen stereo with loads of features. But in my experience older cars generally have less than impressive stereos. Even some newer cars are equipped with poor audio. My car is a 2008 and the stock stereo was not terrible but it could have been better. It had low power output so I had it replaced with a touchscreen stereo. I also replaced all of the door speakers and added a subwoofer system.

Sometimes when upgrading a system an aftermarket stereo is necessary.

Read that as $39502000 thought holy stuff what are you buying?!

But seriously that looks nice for your first car, love the design and the back seats don't really matter, you'll never use them anyway

Maybe if you're lucky it'll turn out to be a transformer

put a bodykit on that bitch
