You guys need to respond slower, just lost everything I was typing :/
No.
Prayers are never answered, and there is usually a 50/50 chance of it ever happening.
For example:
If you pray that you will get an A+ on the test tomorrow, and the next day you do... Is that gods work, or yours?
If you pray that hopefully you will get a bike, and you ask your parents the next day, and in a few months you get a bike... Is that gods work, or your parents?
You see, prayers are just meaningless hopes. They may or may not come true, and if they do, its not caused by an extraterrestrial being, its caused by people.
That's a sad way to see the world. I'm sorry you feel that way.
Aw,
Look at the mess you've made, robo.
looks like we're going to need a mop.
Because if a god exists, he is a spiteful starfish. He lets 1000s of millions of people die all the time. If you die and dont believe in him, he will send you to hell to burn for eternity.
Even if there was a god, which there isnt, I would hate him.
People live and people die, people have to die. the second point varies slightly depending on what religion you listen to. I don't really want to go into this because of the volume of replies I'm getting currently.
Praying is an act made by your subconscious mind.
The fact that any "prayer" is answered at all is simply coincidence.
Another flaw: "if"
Even a man of God who has never committed sin in his life span can easily be ignored by your supposed "deity".
He could pray to be saved as he is being brutally beaten, but nothing comes and he is murdered on the spot.
You christians sit by idly and play the "if" card every time, acting like it's a game of chance based on your Karma status with a fake deity.
You all say "God makes us in his image"
Then why is obesity the #1 health issue in America? Does this make God's image a disgusting, fat pig who sharts his pants every time he eats?
Why did your God not do anything when thousands died on September 11th, 2001?
Why did that student get away with killing so many at Virginia Tech?
Why?
I used to be brainwashed by my parents when I was growing up to believe in Christianity.
I prayed.
Why did nothing happen? I remember every single prayer I ever made when I was a boy.
Here I am. 21 years old and none of them have ever been answered.
They were simple, small prayers. I was a good boy. I rarely "sinned" or even said a swear word. And when I did, I asked for forgiveness.
Nothing. Happened.
Your God. Is false.
Your religion. Is broken.
Those are very good points and I can't answer them. someone who probably could would be people who know more about god than me, Priests or other high up member of a given faith. I'm just one person who is trying to help people believe in god. I would answer if I could, but I'll honestly say I can't answer that.
Warning - while you were reading 21 new replies have been posted. You may wish to review your post. as you can see, I'm having trouble keeping up, I probably missed a load of posts.
I...
what are you...
do you even...
what?
I meant as a Mormon, sorry.
