Author Topic: What kind of player do you like playing as in a video game?  (Read 985 times)

I'm used to playing as the typical hero in a game because I play games where, well, you're the hero.

Out of the poll, I choose a normal person caught into a rather unlikely situation. Even though there's only 1 or 2 games I played where that happens.

A player driven by good intentions but meddling in affairs he should not be in
also he always gets the bad ending, no matter how much good he has done

I like being the hero, it motivates me to play really good.

In RPG's I tend to do good things first play though.

Second play though I try to be evil but wind up doing all the nice stuff with a tidbit of evil thrown in.

Third and beyond it's just all Shenanigans McMuffins

Depending on the title and genera of the game.

Saints row 1-3 - A mischievous trickster with too much power to care for anyone but his team of ninjas.

Red Dead Redemption - A brutal murderer who kills all who approach him.

Gta IV - A stealthy black bike helmet wearing hero who helps other people from the free killers via a sniper and a vast knowledge on how to get on all the roofs in the game.

I like Half-Life because Gordon was just an average Scientist (well, not average in because he knew how to correctly use a gun) who got in the middle of the H.E.C.U. and Aliens, and has to do all of these puzzles in a ginormous complex underground.

This poll is copied almost word for word from GameFAQs.

what.
he wasn't just an average scientist, he worked at black loving mesa

An example for the top one would be God of War.

Normal people are best because it's at least somewhat believable I guess.

at the beginning of hl1 it says over the loudspeaker that they are in need of what ever job gordon does, i think its a theoretical physicist. not to mention they trust him with handling highly dangerous and experimental equipment.
