you people are so stupid it amazes me.
I take it you have never accomplished anything in your life?
Besides being born that is.

So what if its over powered? It makes things a lot easyer.

that post was made of pure sarcasm btw

I take it you have never accomplished anything in your life?
Besides being born that is.

i sperged out and made a nuclear reactor from scratch, i feel so accomplished!!!!

Here's my attempt at re-creating something I went through last night:

Okay, so I was building a really large room. Dimensions were 16x16x6 (where Z is up like it should be).

I dug all of it out, crafted about three or four gem picks to get the job done. Good. That was fine. A Destruction Catalyst would've made it easier, but it's fine.

Then, it was time to make the walls and floor. I wanted them to be out of stone brick, so I had have (Still haven't done all of it. Got bored of Tekkit somehow and went to play Mafia Madness instead.) to smelt some stone.

In the electric furnace we had (Which was all we had the ability of having at the time--EE being disabled really stunts your progression rate.), it took about seven minutes to smelt a stack of cobblestone.
Not to mention that because we have to manually acquire materials, we can't afford decent power supply, so the power storage keeps running out, and we have to spend more precious materials for progression like coal and redstone to fuel it.

Now let's do some math here.

16x16x6 room. This means the floor and roof are both 256 blocks, and the individual walls are 96 each. This is EIGHT HUNDRED NINETY-SIX stone.

896 / 64 = 14.

Fourteen stacks.

Seven minutes per stack.

Ninety-eight minutes.

Which sounds more fun:

Waiting ninety-eight minutes for 896 stone to smelt and then crafting all of the materials you need
OR
Making just one set of stone bricks, then transmuting the rest of the amount of cobblestone into it

Which sounds less tedious:

Waiting around for seven minutes for a stack of something to smelt with nothing else to do because we don't have the proper materials to progress, and to get them, we'd have to go for hours into mines for the fifth time, and then having to manually repeat the process thirteen times

OR

Waiting about thirty-five seconds to smelt four cobblestone and then turning the remainder of the cobblestone into stone brick (Same EMC value, because they're equal in matter. 4 cobblestone -> 4 stone -> 4 stone brick)

This is not rewarding. This is not fun. This is not good. This is not how gameplay progression should be. This is tedious. This is bad. This is NOT fun. This is NOT good. This is horrible.

Eventually I tried to find something to do to pass the time, but in order to get the job done quickly enough, the smelting process required a good bit of my attention. I was making lamps, and I had to go out in the night to hunt down skeletons, which conveniently seemed to stop spawning right then. So I had to go waaay away from home just to kill some skeletons with no guarantee that I'd get bones when I killed them anyway.

edit:
There is a very apparent majority vote that EE is integral to Tekkit. Not to say you're a bad host, but a host's interest should be to please their playerbase. This is common sense. Happy players, happy server, more players, more popularity, etc.
Your obstinateness shows either that you are unaware of this, or that you simply don't care enough.

edit:
I understand how in some cases, doing things the hard way can be more rewarding, but this is an example of where doing things the hard way is NOT rewarding. It just makes me want to rip my testicles off and kick my dog.
I should probably just be patient, and normally, I could. But when I know there WAS an easier way, and that it was intentionally removed, that gets thrown out of the window.

Well, why not run both servers?
One with EE and one without.

Everybody's happy, right?

That's been considered.

The EE one will probably have more people, though.

Also, I should say this here, as I've said a few times ingame:
EMC generators are not the prime example of what EE is for. This is not the only application and EE should not be judged as a whole because of that application.

EE is a very fair mod, and the admittedly overpowered parts of it are balanced due to their high cost.

Hey guys.
Awnser me this.

If EE makes every item able to be turned into pratically every other item...
Then whats the point of having different types of items?

Why not just have every single recipie be diamonds?
Clearly because you were supposed to have to go and hunt for the right materials.

If you want to get other items for what you have, try trading with other players.

Here's my take on the EE argument:

EE could be considered cheap. There's no denying that. Items turn into other items. Farming for infinite EMC (or diamonds). But it's also very convenient. Some players like that, some players don't. I think it's a great mod, but it needs to be balanced. I like the idea of banning emc farms/energy collectors. Infinite EMC isn't fair. It's Equivalent Exchange. However I like being able to reallocate EMC from one item to another. It's convenient. I don't want to have to go on long trips to get the same material multiple times. Tekkit is great in that you get to make fantastic contraptions that make your adventure more interesting. And it wouldn't be as interesting without EE. I like being able to get tons of marble and glass and stone without mining on and on or waiting for things to smelt. When managed right EE can take out the boring parts without giving too much power to the player.

Also if you want to ban flying rings I'm totally down with that. Jetpacks are fairer.

I think EE's gay.
You're basically saying that no matter what you do in minecraft, you did it the easy way and don't give a stuff if it feels good to actually work for something.
Essentially you're sitting on your ass and getting literal metric forgettons of stuff being dumped into your lap. Without applying any effort at all.

I think EE should just stay disabled.
It's much more satisfying when you finally complete your first solar panel and then work your way up and progress to an at-home means of doubled ingot production.

I mean stuff man, I was super excited when I made my first Macerator and a solar panel.
Then I got even higher and made a batbox and pipe system to an electric furnace that then smelted the dust piles into ingots and sent them to a chest.
I was amazed and pretty excited.

Of course, I had some help from one person on the server.

If I was just being handed everything for no effort, then I would've made a factory, got bored, and left.
I wouldn't have spent all day on the server like I did today. I would've made something, felt no sense of accomplishment whatsoever, and left.

tl;dr: FPS games wouldn't be fun if they literally handed you every powerful weapon in the game at once. You'd kill like 10 guys and say "forget this I'm bored." I think EE is tremendously gay and ruins the value of playing.
Without ee it would literally take months of time to get anywhere in the game. Plus, EE only works with mostly vanilla stuff and itself. Its fun trying to make it compatible with other machines and mods.

Ultimamax needs to be banned.

the server doesnt actually have any rules, thats why i packed up and left

If you enable EE, be warned I'm going to industrialize the entire world and create Panchaea in the arctic ocean.

i meant packed up and left the spawn area, then the server glitched and you wouldn't help fix it because you're a terrible host
why are you keeping an eye on ultimamax? the server has no rules

This should be in general discussion

That logic is rather flawed.

I mean, like, really flawed.

It's the kind of logical flaw that I can't even think of the exact words to explain why it's flawed because it's so badly flawed.
