Every time i try to update GTA IV i get this freaking error.

I've tried manual installation and i've tried using the Window live to update it. Nothing will work. Can anyone help?

Would it help if i just exited my antivirus?

Sure, make sure to put it back on once the install is done / you still get the error.

Still got the error. :I

I have no idea what to do.
Have you tried to uninstall completely and install it again?

I guess that's the only thing left to do. :/

Googled the error.
I didn't see any solutions (besides a confirmed O/S reinstall making it work)...

forget dat stuff, i will completely remove it and then reinstall it to see if that works.

I'll inform you if it does.

Actually scratch that. I'll just wait till i get a new computer to even give a stuff about this. The only reason i wanted to install it because i wanted to see if i could run it.

Back to ps3.

Wait, some things:

"InstallFolderFromRegkey: C:\Program Files (x86)\Rockstar Games\Grand Theft Auto IV"
Is that where you installed your game?

Instead of running the install from the .exe, run it from the .msi.

Try moving the whole installer to another place than Desktop, then try again with either the .exe or .msi.
