Author Topic: Question regarding windows 8 trial [SOLVED]  (Read 1256 times)

I was considering getting Windows 8 as it seems like a nice OS (I do not want your opinion on this matter) so I decided to get the trial to see if it will be for me. It is a 90 day trial, meaning it will take me up to Christmas, when I will wipe this computer as it is the only way to get rid of the trial.

What I need to know is:
  • Will my files be intact whenever I start this trial, or will I have to redownload them?
It will give you the option to do this, although some previous OS' will not let you do this. For example, Windows Vista Home Basic. It does create a folder called windows.old with all your program files in there regardless.
  • Is it worth using the trial?
It is good to see if this OS is for you. 90 days is more than enough to decide if you like it. However, to revert back to your previous OS, you need to revert back to factory settings.

Download
Scroll to the bottom and decide what Bit you want to use. You need to fill in the short form to download the trial.
Please remember that in order to get your old OS back, you need to revert your computer back to factory settings
To use this trial, you will download an ISO file which will need to be burnt to a disc

After SP1, Vista was a whole lot more stable, and is as stable as Windows 7 without a service pack. lern2windows

OP should download VirtualBox and install it there to see if it's right for him

Seriously guys, stop making unbiased judgements on Windows 8 considering you haven't tried it.

I have the trial ready to go. So can anybody tell me if my files will be intact?

Now posting from Windows 8

Your files can be stored using some OS' but not Windows Vista Home Premium, unfortunately. I didnt have anything I wanted to keep apart from my blockland files anyways.

So far it's nice, although headphone support isnt here. At least, I can't access it

It seems to work now. I guess a reboot is needed and it will work fine
