You don't have to be a psychic to know that scientists use metric.
funny that, because i'm actually the one who said it

science and the military in america do use metric, but it's not the standard.

funny that, because i'm actually the one who said it
"the standard" can refer to any field. it's the standard within science, which is what I meant.

it's the standard within science, which is what I meant.
it's not good practice to construct an argument on something which you meant to say, instead of actually saying

it's hard to understand precisely what you mean when you apparently leave out words lol

maybe you should work on your writing skills because sorry bud, but i'm not a psychic!

What I meant and what I meant to say is not the same thing. I said what I meant to say. if you didn't understand then that's unfortunate.

I said what I meant to say. if you didn't understand then that's unfortunate.
so you mean to say that metric is the standard?

oh well you really are wrong then, because as we've established a few times it's not americas standard measurement system :)

I meant to say that metric is standard. I meant that it is the standard within science.

also I do believe that there are American scientists.

I said what I meant to say.
I meant to say that metric is standard.  I meant that it is the standard within science.
flip flopping all over the damn place!

My BMI went up 20 points in a day because I ate 500 pounds of hamburgers and woke up fat the next day...

flip flopping all over the damn place!
I'm not flip flopping anything.

I'm not flip flopping anything.
"I said what I meant to say"

"I meant x"

if you said exactly what you meant, you would have been right. but you didn't, and it was wrong. sorry!!

you're still not getting it. there's a difference between my thought and what I intended to write.
"what I meant" is not the same as "what I meant to write"
now that doesn't mean that I did not intend to write what I thought, but a thought isn't a written sentence, and because of that everyone might not understand what I meant, which is unfortunate.

well that just makes you dumb then lol

learn to post properly so it doesnt make you look like such a tit

loving... arguments.

Let me answer this riddle for the both of you.  Even if American Scientists use the metric system, this website wasn't made by the people actually doing any sort of high-end science.  THAT MEANS that the website was made by someone who still considers "Standard" to be Feet and Inches, or "non-metric" measurements.

This website is signed by the US Department of Health and Wellness, but they aren't Chemists or Physicists.  They don't really hold themselves to true scientific standards and they, themselves, use feet and inches.  The scales in our clinics and health offices are measuring height in feet and inches still, so that shows you how much our "Health and Wellness" centers care about the metric system.

Just clearing up the root of the argument.

BMI is sort of unfair. The way it is calculated very fat people/very skinny people aren't proper numbers.

I am clearly overweight (by 15-20 lbs) yet my BMI is 23.3.
