Author Topic: Advice guide to picking a Operating System: V2  (Read 2198 times)

I've installed 64bit windows OS over my 32bit bit one, was this a good idea?

want to play games? windows

want to be artistic? iOS

want to do neither of those things? linux

Windows 8 is, quite literally, for tablets. If you're too inactive (in terms of watching TV) to see the commercial, Microsoft has created some kind of loving touch-screen laptop that can be folded backwards, and when it is, it can be used as a tablet. Or, you can unfold it and use the keyboard and touchpad.

Thus, it's not entirely BAD, it's just that it's not what gamers want.

... Windows Calendar
where the hell is this?  I have Windows 7 ultimate and I've never seen a fully functional calendar that lets me set appointments/etc. calendar functions, other than the typical calendar that just tells you the date in the bottom right.

Seriously? Are you implying Linux can't handle games? Are you implying Linux doesn't have equivalents to OS X design programs? There's plenty of alternatives to programs that either OS X and Windows, if there's no alternative, you can always use Wine. Simply saying you can't make art or play games on Linux makes me sick.
Idk about not making art with Linux, but lets be realistic, almost all games are designed for Windows.  Windows is THE primary operating system for PC gamers.  There is no doubt about it.  Yes there is Wine but again it's just not the same and most people would probably prefer Windows just because it's more familiar and it's used by a wider margin of the market.  I'm highly aware that there are people who play many games on Linux using Wine and etc., so please don't spew out some swear-laced rant about how I'm Riddler and Linux users are my jews please :(

You know, you can be mad and right at the same time.

You know, you can be mad and right at the same time.

You know, I never said he was wrong.

I would gladly use Linux if I didn't play a lot of PC games.

You know, I never said he was wrong.
He's right.

But normally "umad" is used negatively.

stop lying

pretty sure you're assuming I'm jumping on some sort of linux hate-train by reading it as "would you like to use an OS that lets you do neither of those things" rather than "are neither of those things your primary interests" despite the latter being what I was saying

Search calendar in your top left corner (windows explorer).
Anyways: Bump.
