Author Topic: What is one word you thought you were pronouncing right, but was actually wrong?  (Read 1631 times)

I always spelled Wednesday as Wedensday.

I say it 'whens day' :P

I pronounce it "whens day" also.  But seriously who says "wed-n-es-day"

ephialtes

ee-aph-uh-leets

Paradigm

I say pair-uh-dij-um

I always pronounce Wednesday literally.

I remember when I used to say "literally" as "li-tur-alie", it's  kinda hard to put into letters but I was stupid then.

apparently everyone else pronounces it as "gif" with the "g" sound instead of "jiff"
It's actually pronounced as "jiff"

i used to pronounce it just as it's spelled (mee-mee)
now i pronounce it as meem because thats the ~~~cool thing 2 do~~~

It's actually pronounced as "jiff"

"actually" meaning what?

how you say it?

I always say G-I-F with every letter put out.  But every time I say it, people always correct me, saying that it is apparently gif

Also same with GUI I would G-U-I but others say GUI like "gooey"

Same.

It's actually pronounced as "jiff"

Seems like a matter of personal preference.

Facade

I pronounced it as fay cade
