I don't think it's punishing success. The amount of money paid in taxes is merely five percent of what they earn compared to whatever the hell we have now.
I'm tired, so I might be thinking of this the wrong way.
But, if you're paying more for taxes ($500 vs $5) because you make more money ($10,000 vs $100) isn't that still punishing people for success?
It's not rewarding them for success, that's true. But neither is our current system either, since you still get taxed no matter what, lol.
