DC is not a state. It is a territory of the US. Up until the early 60's, they couldn't even vote.
I know it's not a state

I don't see what you're getting at

http://www.accuracyproject.org/usstatehood.html

if you count DC as a state, that makes 51

it's not there because it's not a state....... it's a district.... not a territory...

here's some reading for ya http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Washington,_D.c.
District == Territory. Territory =/= State
Also, if you didn't notice, I'm arguing the fact that it isn't a state, and you're now arguing with me that it isn't a state.

We still have 50 states. Did you fail 4th grade geography?
The 49 states thing was wrong. Excuse my error, I got confused. Up until 2011, we only had 49 states. North Dakota was never considered a state by the Constitution.

North Dakota was never considered a state by the Constitution.

it's because of a little typo though

it still had all of the same benefits as every other state

oh god >.< you're hopeless

remember guys were under obama so don't get mad at them if they want to succeed all of a sudden

you've been sitting here arguing that DC is not a state... when loving everyone already knows that. and now you're trying to cover up the fact you thought we had 49 states by blaming some technicality no one cares about. every elementary kid for the last few decades knows we have 50 states.

Regardless, it was not a state. Technically, it wasn't entitled to the benefits of the Federal Government guaranteed to states by the Constitution.

Oh, I'm not allowed to make mistakes? I'll keep that in mind next time. And when someone makes a mistake, and corrects themselves, I'll be sure to let them know that I think they are covering it up. Even when they've made it pretty clear that it was a mistake on their part. And thanks for telling me about the elementary thing. I really appreciate that.

stop shoving your white richard up your ass and realize this is a GOOD thing for territories to do
Why don't you try not being a douche.

I like the circular flag design, it's more symmetrical.
