It's not like steam, aka, install it and never run the gamefly client ever again because it doesn't launch the games.

Well it's a matter of opinion.

Yes it's run by EA but at least once you get your stuff installed you can just close the client and never have to worry about it again.

Also you can download while playing your games without alt+tabbing out.
