Yes, if you're exposed to second hand smoke a lot of the time (several hours a day) over a long period (over a decade) you sure are gonna develop problems. But a few minutes of second hand smoke from a coworker if you happen to join them on a break isn't gonna cause any problems - only aggravate ones that already existed.

But a few minutes of second hand smoke from a coworker if you happen to join them on a break isn't gonna cause any problems - only aggravate ones that already existed.

No. When you smoke, the particles someone exhaled can be inhaled by your lungs. It is 1/5 of the damage of regular smoking, but if you live/see them a lot, you can get breathing problems.

Why should the views of someone living on the other side of the USA or even the globe have any sort of say in whether California and Colorado have a change in law?
