DOES NO ONE REALLY THINK THIS IS SOME OF THE CREEPIEST stuff EVER OMG Im actually crying holy forget
Easily avoidable if you aren't a moron when it comes to browsing/have the appropriate anti virus/malware/spybot software enabled.

Oh, by the way, there are viruses that can spread by LAN and by FTP that basically give the hacker complete control of your computer and let them see what is on your webcam and what's on your screen.
BE SCARED
Double points if they just outright knock out the hardware/drivers for the webcam light so that you can't even tell.

Is there any way to fix this?
My sister said her anti-virus ran out like last week.
Anyway, try cleaning it out from another computer, either by network or by removing the hard drive and putting it through an HDD's case and cords. Done right, there should be no detrimental effects to the other computer.

also this
im terrified of viruses for some reason
like
even more than normal

even though most viruses dont affect macs
Yeah viruses and alarms are my top fears

First things first, send me pics of your sister.

Now then, just restore her computer to hours/days ago.

Unfortunately, Some ransomware completely disable the ability to access the desktop through safe mode.
Safe Mode with Command Prompt
regedit
HKLM > Software > Microsoft > Windows NT > CurrentVersion > Winlogon > Shell > explorer.exe
yay for being a power user
The person makes a SJDB (Silent Java Drive-By)
I'm going to stop you right here because firstly, you need to verify whether or not you want to run Java applets, and secondly, an image can only have other files archived inside it. There's no way the archived virus could run unless you unpack it.

LIST OF THINGS THAT SCARE ME THAT SHOULDNT
- beeping when i dont know where its coming from, especially high pitched rapid beeping ... which was the sound my old alarm clock made
- computer viruses
- adding onto the above, completely black screens when the device is still on
- a lot of things about electronics scare me in general

Tripple for the loving genius who realised "Oh, hey, I can unplug this!"

If it's built in, the fact that you'd have your computer on at all during this situation is loving handicapped.  And having any connections actively available is even more stupid.

It did give me a big scare when she told us it was recording.

That is literally the most brilliant virus. It's right up there with screamer viruses.

Screamer virus's.....?I hope I never come across one, or I will die.

Just pay me my $200 you easily manipulated children!

Of course, I was saying the simplified version. It could really be any sort of download, and by what I've read it registered as a picture file, so my guess is it was a virus binded to a picture and the .exe spoofed to a .jpg or other format.

In all honesty electronics scare me simply because they are so unpredictable despite us thinking we're in control. At any point they could suddenly cease all function and ruin everything or come under the control of someone else or release all of our data or explode or aaa

Yeah... you're totally immune...

Since when is safe mode not a viable option?

Urgent message broadcasts
