waaa waaa i like to ignore everything kalphiter says even if its valid
Even if what you say was valid your disposition on everything else makes the validity easily overlooked, since a lot of what you say is just you trying to start stuff. Basically, any point you make is ignored because you're constantly trying to be a rooster.

You act as though no thought or good intent goes into these games. Sure they lack creativity but they have effort put into them. They are simply capitalizing on the game market, where shooters are most popular. From a purely business standpoint they should keep making shooters.

We need shooters with different ways to deal with a situation. "Like you can charge in and complete the object, or you can snipe them from that hill, or well you can go back and sneak around, pay that man to fake his death and distract the guard", but no publishers have to boring and publish the same thing.

Of course they're capitally successful, that's exactly my problem because that's Valve's only interest.

Because making a hugely successful FPS is very easy and anybody can do it.

But it will make you a lot of money.

is that a bad thing?

It's not a good thing..
Why? They use the FPS platform to make themselves money. And they put more effort into it than "realistic online battle simulator 2012" (shut up cs:go doesnt count friend)
Valve is really good at story and creative stuff. The clever nuances of their main series like Portal, L4D, Half Life set them away from the product. So while they're only making FPS's in Source engine, the things they add to their games let me enjoy them anyway. If they are good at making FPS's, and people enjoy them, what more is there to say?

if i was told to draw a richard

of course it's their bloody only interest.  they rake in profits like a motherforgeter.  except they're smart enough to know that the pc gaming community doesn't react kindly to negative treatment (see: DRM, console-porting), therefore they at least give back to the customers by making not-stuffty games that boost their piles of money even higher.

in short:
making profits --> extra effort in making customer's happy --> making more profits --> gigantic steam sales every season --> making even MORE profits.

stop being butthurt because they're so successful and mainstream, you cunt.

Wtf, I just hate bad game engines.

Talk to anyone who knows what a real game engine is and he will not cite Source as one.

Okay do you know a better physics engine that runs on well on older computers and is better than Source ?

I'm really curious
