Author Topic: I need your guys' opinions for a book I'm writing.  (Read 2590 times)

Hey guys, so I'm currently in the process of writing a book on my personal outlook and philosophy on life and why us humans were put here on earth, when it came to me that I shouldn't only consider my point of view on it while working on it. I'm already about 90 pages in to it so I'm not going to change much, but I'd still love to hear your guys' opinions.

The short version of mine;

I personally believe that humans were put on the Earth as a cancer. We were sent here to destroy it, and once we're done we'll go to another planet and do the same. If you look at the earth from space, you'll see these disgusting clouds of smog and waste in the air above metropolis. It's an infection. If a bomb were to hit downtown Chicago right now, it'd be rebuilt in a year and it'd look like nothing ever happened. If someone dies, 3 replace them.

Now, I personally have an incredibly negative outlook on humanity as a whole so that might be why I feel this way. But I would love to hear what you guys have to say about it.

one thing I should have been a bit more specific about; I'd love to hear your guys' opinions on why humans were put on earth, rather than my idea of why we're here. If that makes sense.

Wow I honestly think that is a very creative and intuative outlook on the world and a good structure for a story, though if I were to be classified as anything it would be hippy I really like this kind of creative curve.
I absolutely love people who write books, even with know intention of getting published, writing a book is a massive stress and though release.
Keep it up Beach, you are doing great, bud.

good job, keep going and don't give up.

I mean yeah, I guess my whole outlook on life and recreational use of drugs considers me a hippy, but I'm not the whole "take down the corporation maan" kind of guy. I pay my taxes just like everyone else and I don't complain about it.

I have no intention of getting this published, I've always wanted to write a book and I absolutely adore creative writing so this is just a breeze for me. The majority of it is a half-baked rant at this point, but that's okay.
But either way, cheers <3

That is the kind of stuff that restores my faith in the human race bro, writing for your own sake and exploring the reaches of your mind is the best thing you can do in life, and yeah like that, like I said I would be called a hippy but as you mentioned, not a commercial hippy that is all vegan and strikes against whaling constantly and stuff.
Mother earth in your own right.

If you publish it I will buy it.

That's a pretty cool idea.

at least you aren't some 10 year old coming on here saying he is writing a novel full of minecraft creepypastas or some stuff.

Ahahah. Strikes against whaling, I love it! I have a bucket list, and writing a book is on that list. My brain is only going to be this full of ideas for so long.

seems good

I'll give you a free copy for being a boss and using the same name as me. *highfive*

likin how it sounds so far bro, keep it up.

Be sure to share it with us when you are done.
Only if you want to of course.

I am left to wonder what controversies and aspects are in this book of yours, will you touch on the people like us? Who know and fight this cancerous would? The cancer is not only destroying the world but itself as well?
Such a prospect would put our lives beyond the level of cancer, to be an organism that sets out to destroy more than just its host, but also wants itself to be eradicated.

Well, I agree with you Beachbum.

Pollution from cities alone are killing two million people a year, radiation levels aren't getting any lower, we've got massive hordes of animals dropping dead because of it in various areas around our planet, some of the species affected face threat of extinction.
There's many thousands of active nuclear warheads in existence. The threat of a nuclear war is always looming over us.
Obesity is at an all time high, yet we've got millions of people starving to death every year.
On top of all of this, humans discriminate each other just for differences. Greed is never going to end.

My advice: just go with the flow, what happens, happens. Live your own life.
I'm looking forward to reading your book.
